NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned to May 9 a hearing in the alleged rape case against former Tehelka magazine editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal.
He has knocked at the highest court this time for waiving the charges of rape and sexual assault for which he is being tried in Goa by an Additional Sessions Judge of Mapusa.
His case was listed before a Bench of Justices A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan as the earlier Bench headed by Justice S A Bobde was disbanded after Justice L Nageshwar Rao recused himself. On April 9, the apex court had refused to stay proceedings pending against Tejpal and once again directed the Mapusa court to complete the hearing within a year.
