PANJIM: The Supreme Court has stayed the order of the High Court directing the Goa Housing Board (GHB) to hand over three commercial plots at Porvorim to the three successful bidders within two weeks.
The High Court had set aside the decision of the GHB revoking letters of sale granted to three successful bidders for three commercial plots, based on a ‘decision taken by the government’. High Court had ordered the GHB to revive the sale letters and hand over physical possession of the three plots to the petitioners within two weeks. But the GHB filed an appeal against the High Court order before the Supreme Court and obtained a stay order.
The three petitioners had approached the High Court challenging the GHB’s decision to cancel sale letters of three plots at Porvorim and when they were adjudged as the highest bidders and the GHB had issued sale letters to them. The plots were auctioned by the GHB in December 2021.
