PANJIM: Scammers have compromised several Goa government websites, including the SCERT’s Goa Teacher’s Eligibility Test (GTET), the Infotech Corporation of Goa’s recruitment application, and the laptop scheme websites, by planting online Indian Premier League (IPL) betting advertisements and redirection links.
These advertisements were capable of redirecting visitors to online betting platforms.
The international news agency TehCrunch discovered that government websites in Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana were also affected. Pg 5>>
The incident highlights the urgent need for a robust security mechanism to protect sensitive citizen data hosted on government websites.
