SCERT orders reprinting of Class II Gomant Bharti books

National Anthem printed on books was missing the last line

PANJIM: Days after media reports pointed out the incomplete version of the National Anthem in Gomant Bharti Class II Marathi books, the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) on Friday has ordered reprinting of 8000 copies terming it as a printing error.
Speaking to Herald, SCERT Director, Nagaraj Honnekari said, “We have ordered reprinting of 8000 copies of the Gomant Bharti Class II Marathi books after as it was found that the last line of the National Anthem was missing due to a printing error.”
“It is a complete printing mistake and nothing has been done intentionally. We have directed the printer to replace the books within the next 3-4 days. 8000 copies will be reprinted and replaced,” Honnekari said.
He further said that the Gomant Bharti Class II Marathi Book had the National Anthem without the last line “Jaya he, Jaye he, Jaye he”.
“We had the option to reprint only a single page and attach it to the exiting page like a sticker but it was a difficult task to recall all 8000 books so we decided and the printer has agreed to reprint. Only 4000 books which are with us could be replaced by a single page,” he said.
