PORVORIM: Quick thinking by a 12-year-old school girl foiled an attempt by two youth to kidnap her from a school in Guirim during recess on Thursday morning.
This is the fourth such case of an attempt to abduct school girls in Bardez Taluka since January.
According to Mapusa Police, the parents of the girl complained that the incident had occurred at about 11 am, when the girl had come out the school to play during recess.
Police informed that two youth came in a van and one of them opened the door and tried to pull the girl in. However, the girl managed to escape from the clutches of the two youth and ran into the school. The culprits then fled from the site, while the terrified girl narrated the incident to her teachers.
The teachers then reported the matter to the parents of the girl, who later filed a police complaint.
