CALANGUTE: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo said the infrastructure of government primary and other primary schools has to be improved to cater to the needs of students for a healthy and friendly atmosphere in the school premises.
Addressing students, teachers and other dignitaries at the inaugural event of the renovated stage of Government Primary school at Orda-Candolim, Lobo said the infrastructure of the schools including government primary and primary schools was neglected by the successive governments in the State.
“The infrastructure of the schools like toilets, playgrounds and good security needs urgent attention considering various untoward incidents taking place in the State. The students are forced to answer nature’s call behind the buildings or bushes and our government is considering a re-look to improve the infrastructure like separate toilets for girls and boys, CCTVs, fencing the school building and improving playgrounds,” he said.
Earlier, Lobo unveiled the corner stone to inaugurate the renovated school stage in the presence of Headmistress Babita Nirmale, Candido Nazareth, Shankar Mandrekar, Yeshwant Kandolkar and others.
