Schools to conduct supplementary exams in August

PANJIM: The schools will conduct supplementary exams for 517 ATKTs as well as 67 students, who could not clear the Class X, in August. The exams will be either in offline or online mode. 

Goa Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetye said that the supplementary exams in their respective schools will be conducted after three weeks from now with prior intimation of atleast 10 days. 

“The exams could be conducted after August 5. The schools will announce the schedule,” he said. 

Shetye said the school will have to conduct the examination based on the sample paper issued by the Board. The pattern of the paper will be suitable for online/offline mode.

Assessment based result stands null and void,                      if opted for offline

Opening up the opportunity of offline examination for those candidates, who are unsatisfied with the results, the Goa Board has informed that their result based on internal assessment will stands null and void, the moment they opt for offline exam. 

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will conduct offline examination for those students, who seek improvement or are not satisfied with the internal assessment marks and the private/ITI candidates, as and when the situation becomes conducive. 

“Within one week from now, the students will have to submit an undertaking that they are not satisfied with the internal marks. Accordingly, their result will be declared null and void. The offline exam result will be termed as final,” Shetye clarified. 

He said that the private/ITI candidates will also have to answer the same exam, the date of which will be announced 10 days in advance. 

6,744 students 

registered for 

entrance exams so far

As many as 6,744 students, including those from other school Board, have registered for the entrance examination for seeking admission in Science or Diploma courses in Class XI. 

There are 174 Class X students from other Boards like CBSE, ICSE who have registered for the entrance exams. 

The Board also said that any pass out candidates in April 2020 or prior to that, who desire to take admission in diploma courses will have to answer entrance examination Date of entrance examination for admission to Class XI Science and Diploma courses will be announced 10 days in advance.

week: Shetye 

Goa Board chairman Bhagirath Shetye has informed that Class XII result is likely to be announced this week. 

As per the tabulation policy, the Class XII students’ performance over the last three years or that from Class X to pre-Board exams will be taken into account to evaluate their marks for the current term.
