PANJIM: With improvement seen in the COVID-19 situation in the State, the Academic Year 2021-22 will commence as per schedule on June 21. However, the mode of conduct of classes will be announced a week prior to the academic term beginning.
The academic calendar will begin from June 21 for primary to higher secondary students. The last academic term was held via online mode due to the pandemic induced lockdown.
Speaking to Herald, Education Director DR Bhagat said that the academic term 2021-22 will commence as per the schedule from June 21. “The schedule has already been
declared. However, the government is yet to take a decision whether the classes will be held online or offline,” he said.
Bhagat said that students will be informed about mode of conduct of classes in due course of time. “We will review the COVID-19 situation and submit a report to the government post curfew. As of now the curfew is in force till June 14,” he said.
He said that the stakeholders will be taken into confidence before taking the decision. He also said that during the curfew period, no schools will remain open for teaching purpose and that only heads of school and non teaching staff have been directed to join duty from June 7.
