MARGAO: A woman from Pune-Maharashtra while driving a car in a rash and negligent manner knocked down a 19-year-old scooter rider causing her injuries near Velim, on Saturday.
According to the Cuncolim police, the 32-year-old women driver caused injuries to scooter rider Grizal Fernandes of Carxetta, Velim.
Police said based on the complaint an offence under Section 279, 338 OF IPC has been registered against the car driver.
The complainant stated that at Assolna-Cavelossim road junction, women by name Divya Jain (32) of Pune while driving her car in a rash and negligent manner dashed against Grizal and knocked her down while proceeding to Velim from Cavelossim.
Further investigation is conducted by Assistant Police Sub Inspector Anand Gaokar.
