KORGAO: Mopa police arrested one Samir Abdul Halimshah from Colvale for stealing scrap which was dumped in the vicinity of Mopa International Airport under the pretext of collecting garbage. They have also seized a vehicle stolen by the accused.
According to Mopa PI Narayan Chimulkar, one Pankaj Pashupati Pahari had complained about scrap going missing from Mopa airport area. The police squad led by ASI Dnyaneshwar Naik checked the CCTV cameras and identified the accused. Head constable Mahadev Vaingankar, Prajit Narvekar, Jayesh Gad, Manoj Thakur and Ritesh Mandrekar were part of the police team led by ASI Naik which tracked down the accused at Colvale. After being detained, the accused admitted to the theft. ASI Naik is further investigating the case, under the guidance of PI Chimulkar.
