PANJIM: The Special Educators Association of Goa (SEAG) has urged the government with various difficulties faced by them as contractual teachers working in various schools including non-release of payment for the academic year 2019-20.
In a memorandum submitted to the Director of Education, SEAG Maria Liberata Mendonca said that the special student needs special attention to the syllabus putting in extra effort by them as a teaching faculty.
“Sadly, we as special educators get no “special” treatment or attention from our schools nor the department,” she lamented.
In their series of grievances, Mendonca pointed out that they are yet to receive salaries for the academic year 2019-20 and demanded that the same be released immediately.
SEAG further said that though the cost of living is increase, the salary cut is been reported.
She said that the remuneration which was 35,000 in 2017, with annual pay cut, has reduced to Rs 20,000 in 2019. “Also, no pay is given during vacation,” Mendonca said.
SEAG has also demanded regularisation of their services to ensure job security.
