PANJIM: The District Magistrate, North Goa has imposed Section 144 CrPC around the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) venue. The restriction on the gathering of people within 500 mtrs radius around the venue of IFFI functions is till January 24.
The order bans carrying of firearms or weapons of offences such as lathis, swords, daggers or spears. It also bans use of loudspeakers, shouting of slogans and burning of firecrackers near the petrol pump/s, venues of meetings, etc, across any public place, street, road, square, thoroughfare, by lane or in any open area around the 500 mtrs radius of the IFFI venue.
