PANJIM: The State authorities on Monday imposed Section 144 CrPC in the jurisdiction of Police Station Porvorim and Panjim owing to the two-day long Legislative Assembly session that concludes on Tuesday.
Although the order, released by the Department of Information & Publicity does not elaborate further; as per the law, the order prohibits the collection of five or more persons, carrying of firearms or weapons of offence such as lathis, swords, daggers or spears, burning of fire crackers near petrol pumps and at the venue of the meetings, use of loudspeakers and shouting of slogans in any public place, street, road, square, thoroughfare, by-lane or any other open space.
