Secular yoga education in school curriculum: CM

PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday announced that he would introduce secular yoga education in the school curriculum, but did not commit to a date.

“Yoga education will be introduced in the school curriculum. I am using the word ‘secular’ to avoid objections by Opposition benches,” he told the House replying to a cut motion on demands for grants on education.
Parrikar even asked that if anyone had any objection about the word yoga then it should be raised during his reply. “I am repeating, we will have secular yoga in the curriculum,” he said as he recalled that ‘one of my ministers remark on Hindu rashtra was taken up by news channels, which was subsequently raised by the Opposition benches. “You have the habit to react the next day,” he said.
