In a successful joint operation, security forces comprising the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police neutralized a newly recruited local terrorist affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Pulwama district. The operation, conducted in the New Colony area of Arihal on the night of November 30 and December 1, was based on specific intelligence input.
The Indian Army reported that the encounter resulted in the elimination of one terrorist, with the recovery of weapons and war-like stores from the vicinity. The identity and group affiliation of the deceased militant are currently under investigation. The police confirmed the conclusion of the operation, stating, “Newly Recruited Local LeT Militant Killed in Pulwama Gunfight. Operation Concluded.”
The joint forces initiated the operation by establishing a cordon and making contact, ultimately eliminating the threat posed by the LeT recruit. The search operation is ongoing as security forces continue their efforts to ensure the area’s safety.
