Security tightened for Rajnath visit

PANJIM: Ahead of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Goa, the State police have chalked out a watertight security plan during a meeting held on Sunday.

The meeting attended by the north district SP Umesh Gaonkar, Crime Branch SP Kartik Kashyap, Traffic DySP Dharmesh Angle and others discussed about putting in place elaborate security measures. 
Singh will chair a meeting of the western zonal council at a starred resort in the capital. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel, and the administrator of Daman and Diu will also attend the meeting.
“Security along the traffic route from the Dabolim airport till the meeting venue, besides deployment of armed personnel at places where Singh is likely to visit were discussed,” an officer said. It is learnt that the council members are likely to meet Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, however there has not been any official confirmation. 
Sources said Singh, who enjoys NSG cover along with Z plus category security, will be provided with bullet-proof car throughout his stay period in the State. The other CMs come under different security categories will also be given special security.
