MARGAO: Castigating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for its insensitivity to Goan seafarers, South Goa District Congress Committee president Joe Dias urged all the panchayats in the State to adopt resolutions seeking vaccination of seafarers at Mormugao Port Trust.
Congratulating Chinchinim Deussua panchayat for resolving the matter, he urged other panchayats to follow suit as otherwise Goan seafarers who have been sitting idle at home for almost a year will not be able to join their vessels again.
He said the long gap between the two doses will make it impossible for young seafarers below the age of 45 to take the second dose and join the vessel as they are receiving call letters to join within the next two months or so.
