MARGAO: Pumping of water from the Selaulim water treatment for Goa came to a complete stop late Sunday evening following a major power failure vis-a-vis the Xeldem power station.
Water pumping was affected since 8 pm and power at the Selaulim treatment was not restored till 10 pm, even as power officials were on the job to restore power supply to the plant.
PWD executive engineer, S R Paranjapae said pumping of water has been hit since 8 pm for want of power. “ For two hours, there’s been no pumping and we are in constant touch with the electricity officials ”, he said.
