A self-accident was reported at Colvale involving a taxi veering off on Wednesday morning. The terrifying incident took place at Colvale National Highway 66.
As per sources, the taxi driver was speeding and suddenly lost control of his vehicle. The driver was reportedly heading towards Manohar International Airport, Mopa. To avoid any major mishap, the taxi driver veered off on the highway leading to his car turning upside down.
Local commuters rushed to the spot to help the victim. Fortunately, no fatality was reported as the driver sustained minor injuries. Locals immediately took the injured driver to hospital for medical treatment.
This is the second accident reported within 12 hours involving the Goan Taxis, as the first accident was reported at Old Patto Bridge, Panjim on Tuesday late evening between 2 taxi cars. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained but both parties bore the damages as a result of the accident. Despite knowing that it’s a no-entry area at Old Patto Bridge one of the taxi drivers drove through the bridge leading to a minor accident. In both cases, the taxi drivers were seen flouting the traffic rules and road safety that led to the accidents.
