MARGAO: Rachol seminary will play host to a day long seminar on the theme “Swami Vivekananda’s vision of National Integration through inter-religious harmony” on October 2.
The seminar jointly organised by Rachol seminary along with Bharat Vikas Parishad and Pilar seminary is expected to be attended by more than 400 delegates and dignitaries to deliberate and discuss on the theme.
Addressing the media, Fr Victor Ferrao, Rachol seminary said “our country is blessed with multiplicity of cultures, languages and religions. This rich diversity of heritage is in danger from several divisive forces that operate to actualize a sinister design based on a narrow and exclusionary nationalism. In the context of the danger to the unity and integrity of our country, the 115th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is a great opportunity to envision an integral vision of our country through a mutual respect of the rich diversity in our culture, religions and languages. Such a nationalism that is respectful, appreciative and dignifying to every otherness that constitutes the ethos of our country is both relevant and vital in recent times”.
He said that Rachol seminary is indeed an apt ambience to discuss Swamiji’s  inclusive-pluralism that less all the plural and diverse religions to merge into an ocean since the Swami had visited Rachol seminary before his journey to attend the world Parliament of religions at Chicago.
BVP president Krishna Pai Angle said the morning session promises to be an intellectual delight.
with the key note address by Journalist Arun G Karmarkar. The session will be presided by Justice (Retd) V K Kakje, ex-governor Himachal Pradesh and National President BVP.
