MARGAO: Bharatiya Janata Party’s juggernaut rolled into the twin constituencies of Margao and Fatorda on Sunday with Party leader Manohar Parrikar making a forceful plea to the citizens to send home Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to restore Madgavkar’s self-respect.
“Goa needs a change in government. But, I appeal to Madgavkars to bring about the change in the city by sending home Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat”, Parrikar asserted amidst thunderous applause from party workers and supporters.
“Margao was known all over as the cultural capital city of the state. Sadly, the commercial capital today has become a crime centre. Goondagiri has raised its ugly head in the city. Gang wars are order of the day. The time has come to restore Margao’s place in the State”, Parrikar said even as he lambasted the Chief Minister for various sins of omission and commission.
Referring to the recurring gang wars atop Moti Dongor, Parrikar said “I don’t blame the inhabitants of Moti Dongor for the crime situation. Gangsters backed by Kamat have made Moti Dongor their home. The innocent people have to live with the bad name because of a handful of gangsters”, he added.
Parrikar continued: “Kamat has been ruling the city for the last 18 years, but there’s no solution to the garbage woes. He has taken up the two projects of District Collectorate and District Hospital,  but cannot manage Hospicio hospital”.
Earlier in the day, Parrikar’s Jan Sampark Abhiyan visited neighbouring Fatorda constituency, where party MLA Damu Naik, BJP leader Dr Wilfred Mesquita addressed the people to bring back the party to power once again.
