In a video circulated on social media, Luizinho Faleiro former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, is seen talking about the difficult times the world is going through right now. With this pandemic taking a toll on thousands of lives, he stressed on how Goa & Goans need to take extreme precautions as it is the need of the hour.
He says that though Goa has been detected with only three positive coronavirus cases, it will not take time for it to reach 3000 if we don’t act responsibly now. We need to stay at home, stay safe & maintain social distancing.
Luizinho further stressed on how they understand the question on everyone’s minds i.e. the supply of essential commodities and their availability.
He said ‘To solve this problem, our 5 panchayats have finalised some agencies that are ready to do home delivery and their contact numbers have been sent to the collector. But sometimes, we also need to understand that these items may take a while to be delivered or sometimes may be out of stock. We need to bear with this. We have provided passes to 20 of our volunteers to especially help the old and sick people. Also the sarpanch & panch members of each ward are provided with volunteer passes and are instructed to identify the agencies supplying essential commodities and email the details to the collector.’
Adding further he said that davorlim had started a new project of community farming ‘krishi urbah’ wherein the farmers had supplied alot of fresh grown vegetables to the people and also was further distributed.
‘Requesting the people of navelim to bear with us in this difficult time and understand the situation’ Luizinho said.
