MARGAO: Lashing out how Dr. Jack Sequeira, the father of the opinion poll, has been neglected, NCP MLA Churchill Alemao has claimed that ‘if Sequeira was not catholic and from some another community, his statue would have been in every house. ’
Alemao was speaking at a felicitation cum Swachhata Hi Seva function by South Goa ZP ,where he spoke about the Opinion Poll. “In Goa, our problem is that the politics is community based,” he added, while speaking about preserving Goa’s identity.
He added that after Dayanand Bandodkar, no politician from the lower society became the Chief Minister for a long time. “After I became the Chief Minister, the path was paved for other minority CMs in Goa,” said Churchill.
On his support to CM Pramod Sawant, the Benaulim MLA added, “I have supported the person not the party because I feel the minority community has to run the government.”
