PORVORIM: Elections to the managing committee of Serula Comunidade will be held for the first time in 20 years, when Jonoeiros and shareholders of Serula Comunidade take part in elections on Sunday.
Bardez Mamlatdar Dashrath Gawas will be the presiding officer, while Administrator of Comunidade C B Shetkar will be the observer at the elections, which will take place at Gadge Maharaj Hall, Porvorim, at 10 am.
The candidates in the fray are Joseph Pinto, Prakash Shetye and Arvind Shirodker (Effective President), Anacleto Martins and Dhaishwar Shirodker (Substitute President), Agnelo Lobo and Benzamine Lopes (Effective Attorney), Florenco Siqueira and Hemant Shet Tanaude (Substitute Attorney), Purushottam Shirodker, Sharad Naik and Ajit Shirodker (Effective Treasurer) and Domingos Pinto and Nicolau D’Souza (Substitute Treasurer).
Elections had not been conducted in the past 20 years as the managing committee of former attorney Agnelo Lobo had been elected unopposed.
