An FIR against Parulekar and two others was registered on January 7, 2014 under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Crime Branch was investigating the case.
On Friday, Special Public Prosecutor Guruprasad Kirtani told the special court that investigations have been completed and charges will be filed soon. The court has directed the investigation officer to be present in the court on July 17. Earlier, on October 7, 2014 the court had directed Crime Branch to complete the investigation within one month.
Social activist Advocate Aires Rodrigues in his complaint to Porvorim Police last year alleged that 599 sq metres of prime land on Chogm Road at Porvorim was given to Parulekar without any auction and without following procedure under the Code of Comunidades.
Following directions from the JMFC Mapusa, Porvorim Police in January 2014 had registered the FIR and later transferred the case Crime Branch as serious corruption charges were involved.
