PONDA: The seven accused arrested in connection with the attack on restaurateur Viraj Mashelkar, were released on bail on Wednesday. Mardol police had arrested Yatiraj Narayan Kamat, 25, from Bicholim on Tuesday night while the rest were arrested in the afternoon. Akash Navelkar was not arrested but detained for enquiry and was released under Section 41-A for cooperating with police.
Head Constable Sameer Fadte and his five accomplices were arrested for assaulting Vivek on Sunday night at Marcel.
PSI Sushant Sangodkar investigated the matter under the supervision of PI Raghoba Kamat.
