MARGAO: Taking serious note of the request from citizens and the pollution caused, finally the PWD, National Highway issued NOC for the cutting of road for sewage connections.
The move brought much relief to several residential buildings along the Margao-Navelim four-lane road, which are yet to be connected to the sewerage network. Speaking to media, office bearers of various housing societies now urged the concerned department to expedite the next procedure in order to avoid further nuisance in the locality.
It has been informed that by virtue of an NOC issued to the SIDCGL by the Executive Engineer of PWD works Division XIV (NH), the Sewerage Department has been permitted to cut the road in order to lay the connecting lines of the residential buildings along the road. Savio Coutinho, who had been raising the issue for the past several years, also expressed satisfaction over the same.
