VASCO: Locals from Vasco, Headland Sada were troubled due to overflowing sewage water on the jetty-Rumdatali road which leads to Sada. Vasco PWD officials have assured to solve the issue at the earliest.
Since Thursday, locals passing through the only road which leads to Headland Sada, have to bear the brunt of the stinky unbearable smell which is of the sewage overflowing from the two manholes next to the road.
Ashish Tikam, a local youth, states that “since it is the rainy season, whenever any vehicle passes through this dirty water, the splash falls on other commuters which is really unbearable. PWD should immediately fix this issue.”
Another girl named Pinky, mentioned that “we are seeing this sewage water overflowing on the road and also in the drains. Some drains are choked and due to which the sewage water has got clogged in these drains.”
When contacted, PWD department Assistant Engineer, Abhay Gawade, said that he has already sent his engineers at the site to rectify the issue.
“We have used metal detectors to check the chocked manholes. We are yet to find the exact reason behind such a block,” he explained.
He further said that they have received verbal and telephonic complaints regarding sewage overflowing and manholes being blocked to which “we have attended and soon we are expecting to clear the blockages and clear the problem.”
