PANJIM: St Andre’s Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Vishnu Surya Wagh on Monday said he along with local residents will gherao Goa Medical College (GMC) Dean Dr V N Jindal for failing to heed to several complaints about seepage of contaminated water from the GMC sewage treatment plant into nearby villages.
Speaking to reporters on Monday on the sidelines of a press conference, he said the gherao will be at 11am after re-inspecting the site, located behind the GMC.  “I have personally inspected the site and noticed that the release of the untreated water is entering wells and septic tanks are also being spoilt. There have been several complaints but GMC has not taken action due to which we have decided to gherao the dean,” he said.
Serious objections have been raised by locals over the functioning of treatment plants for over a year and the same has also been highlighted by the media.
