MARGAO: Visitors to the South Goa Collectorate Building in Margao are being subject to the sights and smells of an overflowing sewer in the private complex next door and have demanded strict action against the public nuisance and health hazard of untreated sewage left in the open. MMC Councillor Camilo Barreto has urged the Urban Health Centre and the Margao Municipality to issue a notice to the concerned persons or the concerned housing society, immediately.
Locals told Herald that the sewage tank has been overflowing for several days. “Hundreds of people visit the building on a daily basis and are forced to pass by the foul-smelling stream of sewage. This is not acceptable,” said a Varca local.
