PONDA: During the review meeting with government officials on various developmental works, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik on Wednesday informed that the sewerage network would be ready by May.
He further said the 15 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) would be operational by May.
During the meeting, the Ponda MLA directed the officials of PWD, Traffic, Ponda municipality and other departments to expedite the pending works before monsoon.
He slammed the departments for digging the roads without any coordination and claimed that people suffer due to such bad road conditions.
The MLA said he had also directed them to commence the hot-mixing work sanctioned by government in some parts of the town.
He said the hot-mixing work from Maruti Temple to Upper Bazaar, Khadpaband would commence soon.
To increase the life of roads, he suggested that the government to make use of metal instead of rubble.
He said heavy vehicles ply on the roads and during monsoon the road constructed using rubble gets damaged.
He directed the gas and PWD authorities to expedite their pending works before monsoon.
He also instructed the traffic officials to identify land for parking, and install proper signboards in the town before Shigmo.
