According to Vasco police, the student from Zone 6, Jamshedpur-Jharkhand, filed a police complaint, accusing Amarendra (Raju) Kumar of sexually assaulting her and later threatening her with dire consequences. In her complaint, the student stated that Kumar had brought her from Jharkhand to Goa on June 11 under the pretext of marrying her. She further stated that Kumar had confined her in a rented room near a bar at Shantinagar, Vasco, and had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions over a period of a month. The police arrested Kumar under Sections 342, 506 (ii), 323, 376 IPC and PSI Nikhil Palyekar is investigating the case.

VASCO: A 23-yr-old man from Bihar, but residing at New Vaddem in Vasco, was on Saturday arrested by Vasco police on charges of sexually assaulting a 22-yr-old college girl from Jharkhand.
