MARGAO: In order to complete the process of preparing the much discussed Outline Development Plans (ODP), the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) on Thursday has invited for suggestions and objections to the ODP-2031 for Margao and Ponda.
The public notice issued by the SGPDA stated that a 30-day time period will be given to file the objections and suggestions to the already prepared draft ODP-2031.
It is also brought to the notice of the public that the objections which were received earlier by the Authority for the draft ODP-2031 of Margao and Ponda need not be filed again, as the same are already in record of SGPDA.
It is pertinent to note that in November 2022, the SGPDA had been given another month to complete the process of preparation of the ODP-2031 of Margao and Ponda planning areas, which was a second extension given to the authority.
As stated in the notice the government by order dated April 27, 2022 directed the authority to keep on hold the draft ODP-2031 and to prepare a fresh plan for Margao and Ponda in consultation with the consultants/experts as may be decided by the government and Town and Country Planning Board.
However, SGPDA had resolved to seek additional month’s time for receiving objections and suggestions to already notified draft ODP-2031 on September 14, 2022 from the government.
In the month of September the TCP had strictly asked the SGPDA not to consider change of zone in areas such as low-lying paddy fields, water bodies, khazan lands, flood-prone areas, land with over 25 per cent slope, forest land including private forests, or land filling in the buffer zone of wildlife sanctuaries and tenanted agricultural lands while drawing up the ODPs.
