A gazette notification says the election was held on June 24, in which Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser of Delhi was elected chairman and Trinamool Congress MP Sultan Ahmed as a vice chairman.
These elections are subject to the decision in the writ petition pending before Bombay High Court as per its order dated June 17, the notification said.
Meanwhile, responding to the calls for granting him the BJP ticket to contest the assembly elections from Navelim, Jina said, “I respect the sentiments of the people who are demanding the Navelim ticket for me for the upcoming Assembly polls. But I will abide by the party decision.”
Meanwhile, Jina has said that he is committed to laying the foundation stone for Haj House for Goa before the upcoming election.
“I will first get the foundation stone laid for the Haj House for Goa before election and for that I have already spoken to the chief minister and MP Narendra Sawaikar and will soon put in a proposal and get it passed,” Jina said.
“The Muslims will definitely stay with the BJP and will re-elect the BJP government,” Jina claimed.
