Well-known nightclubs and restaurants located on the famous Anjuna and Vagator coastline play loud music beyond the permissible limit. These clubs are a stone’s throw from the Anjuna police station.
A resident of Assagao, who is an ex-member of the Noise Pollution Monitoring Committee Desmond Alvares said “With no sort of action from local police, the local police, clubs nexus is all too visible. I stay in Assagao but still, I have heard the music which is played by clubs which are located almost 4 km away but even after giving oral as well as written complaints, no action is initiated by the police. Every night loud music parties are held which continue till the next day but when police are called, they say that no such incidents are reported. Even after informing the police, the police act deaf, dumb, and mute”.
