PONDA: Kavlem Shantadurga Temple Managing Committee on Saturday filed a complaint at Ponda Police Station and Cyber Cell against a Maharashtra based person for opening an account and collecting money in name of the temple.
Temple Committee President Triloknath Borkar in complaint submitted to Ponda Police Inspector stated that it has come to the committee knowledge that there has been fake website created by a fraudster in name of Shantadurga Temple and has been duping people in the name of donations for the past several months.
“Upon inquiry with the phone number provided, the person represent himself as the committee member Sandeep Waghmare and has been accepting donations via cheques, cash or Phone Pay on the mobile number mentioned in the website and has also provided a bank account details i.e A/C No maintained in the State Bank of India at Osmanabad District, Maharashtra,” the complainant stated.
The police sources said they are investigating into the complaint.
