PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Tuesday indirectly hinted that that former GIDC chairman Shantaram Naik was allegedly responsible for inviting polluting industries in Cuncolim industrial estate.
“Shantaram Naik was heading GIDC at the time when all these polluting industries were welcomed in Cuncolim industrial estate. I was new at that time, or else I would have made noise on the issue,” Parrikar told the House Tuesday.
He said that the mess that is created by Congress rulers is being sorted out by him and Environment Minister Alina Saldanha.
“There are leeches in the water. If this thing continues then the future generation would be born with deficiencies,” the chief minister said.
