NEW DELHI: Picking up from controversies of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Bollywood movie ‘Udta Punjab,’ Goa’s Congress MP Shantaram Naik on Wednesday said Goa should not become ‘Udta Goa’ because of some Hindi movies depicting the state in exaggerated form with imaginary stories.
In a special mention in the Rajya Sabha, he said the I&B Ministry is helpless since after Supreme Court struck down the revisional powers over the Film Certification Board.
Naik advocated a balanced approach between the freedom of expression and depiction of the drug use prevailing in society.
