MARGAO: Shanti Sadan, Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) Secretariat Extension, was inaugurated and blessed by His Excellency Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay and CCBI President Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, at Benaulim, on Monday.
CCBI President Most Rev George Antonysamy Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore and Vice President CCBI Most Rev Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Archbishop of Delhi and Secretary General, CCBI were also present.
The Shanti Sadan has facilities of 25 self-contained A/C rooms with twin sharing, Chapel, AC conference and dining hall for 40 persons. It is situated 17 km from the airport, 4 km from the railway station, 2 km from Benaulim Beach, 3 km from Colva Beach and 36 km from Old Goa. Benaulim is the birthplace of St Joseph Vaz.
