Sharada Mandir excels at ICSE examination

PANJIM: The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) 10th annual examination 2014 saw an almost 98.28 percent pass percentage. The exams conducted in March saw some 1, 40,878 students appear.
Sharada Mandir School, Miramar, excelled securing 100 percent results. Out of the 139 students who appeared, 106 secured distinctions, 30 first classes and three second classes. Forty-two students have secured 90 percent and above and 33 above 85 percent
Neha Shah stood first in Goa with 97.6 percent, Daniola Francisca Vaz and Sanika Raj Amonkar stood second with 96.6 percent while Twishi Saran and Vishal Rathod secured third place scoring 96 percent. The top three will get the Sharada Mandir Trust gold, silver and bronze medals. Meanwhile, the state scored a pass percentage of 99.86 percent at the recently announced Class X Central Board of Secondary Education public exam for 2014. Heads of the around eight CBSE schools in Goa were delighted at the performance after the results were declared on Monday for the Chennai region. Goa is included in the Chennai region that includes Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Daman and Diu. Altogether, 1,23,279 students appeared from 
­the region.
