PONDA: The ongoing strike by transporters had an immediate impact in Ponda as vegetable prices rose sharply at the Ponda market.
“There is a shortage of vegetables in the market and the remaining stock will only last for a couple of days,” informed the president of the Bhudhwarpeth Vypari Sanghtana.
“Vegetable agents from neighbouring states have informed that there will be no transportation of vegetables due to strike. Except for onions and potatoes, the other vegetables would last for a couple of days. The stock of onions and potatoes will last for about 8-10 days,” he added.
