PONDA: Shigmo celebrations will begin in Goa on March 30, starting with Ponda, said MLA Ravi Naik. The government had declared Shigmo celebrations on April 3 and April 4 at Panjim and Mapusa respectively.
Since traditionally Shigmo would start at Ponda, MGP leader Sudin Dhavlikar demanded that government continues with the tradition and begin the celebration in Ponda.
Pondaites were worried because the government officials had mentioned celebrations at Margao and Mapusa but Ponda had not figured out in the release.
