VASCO: The grand Shigmotsav float parade organised by Murgao Nagrik Shigmotsav Samitti enthralled the crowd in Vasco on Tuesday.
The procession kicked off at around 6 pm from St Andrew’s Church Square with folk dance troupes and fancy dress participants leading the grand event and the same was followed up by romtamel and colourful float/ chitrarath (tableaux) which were based on various mythological scenes.
As many as 56 troupes — floats (38), romtamel (9), folk dance (9) and fancy dress participants — gave their presentations in front of the stage that erected opposite to Vasco railway station.
In the beginning, there was very less number of crowd, but however with romtamel and float’s started enrooting from Swatantra Path, a large number of people flocked to the Swatantra Path. The procession culminated after 11 pm.
