PANJIM: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for the second time air-dashed to Goa on Saturday morning and flew back with his supporting MLAs to Mumbai, the same evening.
Shinde had left for Mumbai on Friday to chair a meeting of natural disaster management. On Saturday, he again returned to Goa and met his supporting MLAs at the starred hotel where they also discussed the strategy to be adopted during the special two-day session of the Maharashtra Assembly convened on July 3 and 4.
Shiv Sena’s Sawantwadi MLA and spokesman Dipak Kesarkar said that the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will respond to his removal as the Sena’s leader in the Legislative Assembly through legal means. Uddhav Thackeray on Friday expelled Shinde from the party for anti-party activities.
Kesarkar argued that once a leader becomes Chief Minister of a State, he no longer remains a leader of any political party but he is the leader of the State Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, the BJP has nominated MLA Rahul Narvekar and MVA has fielded Rajan Salvi for the Speaker’s post.
