Shinde has been holding hectic meetings to prepare for the elections in October. He informed that another round of meetings with police is remaining, following which the roadmap of law enforcement will be decided.
“We have also appointed flying squads, which are aimed at controlling the flow of money while the code of conduct is in force,” said Shinde, adding that he would be in charge of law and order in the district, while his returning officers would communicate directly with the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, Benaulim MLA Caitu Silva was heard objecting to the absenteeism of several collectorate employees, who are either on leave or on election duty.
