Shirdi murder accused held in Panjim

PANJIM: Panjim police achieved a major breakthrough in the murder of a youth in Shirdi by arresting two of the accused, who were at large since the incident on May 15. Their arrest in Goa was incidentally from the Saibaba temple at Boca Da Vaca.

Vishal Kote, 25 and Rupesh Wadekar, 32, both from Shirdi had fled to Belgaum and later came to Goa by road after kidnapping Sagar Shejwale taking him to a deep forest, where they allegedly hacked him to death. 
“The accused were seven persons in a group who got into an altercation with Sagar in the liquor serving shop at Shirdi. The two accused took him on a motorbike to an unknown place and physically assaulted him resulting in his death,” SP Umesh Gaonkar told reporters at Panjim police station.
The duo, along with a third accomplice, Deepak Manje, had escaped to Goa on Sunday.
