BORIM: Carnival will be celebrated on a state-level celebration in Shiroda for the very first time on February 11.
Local MLA and Industries Minister Mahadev Naik told media persons that he had appealed to the State government to hold the carnival celebration programme in Shiroda, for the benefit of a large number of people from in and around the constituency.
“This has come true with state government approval. As a result, the Carnival celebration will be held on Monday for the first time on a state level,” he said.
“The State government has granted Rs 7 lakh for the celebration. We expect a large number of floats to participate in the parade. Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar will be the chief guest, while state BJP President Vinay Tendulkar and Chairman of Law Commission Narendra Sawaikar will be guests of honour,” Naik added.
