Shiroda Constituency to get uninterrupted power supply: MLA

PONDA: Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar on Friday said that the electricity supply in the constituency will be improved by laying of underground cabling, installation of new transformers, replacement of poles and providing ABC cabling parallel to underground cabling so that people get uninterrupted electricity supply. 

Giving details about the various projects, he said at Panchawadi Panchayat jurisdiction, two new transformers worth Rs 10 lakh would be installed. The work was already sanctioned three months ago and will commence anytime in this month. The underground cabling will commence in December at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore and will be carried out till Amber in Sanvordem Constituency.

He also said that the underground cabling will also be carried out at Bethora, Borim and Shiroda Panchayat areas, at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore. The three files which were pending due to COVID pandemic are now in a processing stage and work is likely to begin in December. 

He said, “11 KV line in the areas would be totally underground and there would be ABC line parallel to provide uninterrupted power supply. Already half of the areas have ABC lines. Thus underground cabling and ABC will be a double circuit in the future.” 

“Rs 10 crore would be spent on improving existing overhead lines by replacing 600 poles and transformers in Borim, and Shiroda. Already work has began in Shiroda and Borim, wherein two agencies are engaged on it,” he added.

“People will not complain after the underground cabling is done,” he said.
