PANJIM: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mandal member and Shiroda Zilla Panchayat (ZP) member Jaideep Shirodkar joined the Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) at the party office, here, on Saturday.
Shirodkar joined the party in the presence of TMC Parliamentary leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien and Goa TMC leader Pratibha Borkar. Jaideep Shirodkar is the son of former Shiroda MLA late Jaikrishna Shirodkar.
Addressing the media persons, Shirodkar said, “I am glad that I got the opportunity to work for Goa TMC. My father’s blessings are with me and that’s the reason I am still in politics. The TMC has given me the responsibility for Shiroda Assembly Constituency and I can’t wait to work for the people of Goa.”
Shirodkar added that he was not given due respect within the BJP which is why he resigned from the party.
