PONDA: About 700 farmers were in a state of distress here after their fields were submerged following a breach in the Jaavli Maanas bandh.
They ryots made frantic efforts to repair the bandh immediately which was almost on the verge of collapse.
On Tuesday afternoon, mud and stones needed for the repair work was ferried across and on Wednesday, around 100 farmers joined hands to repair the bandh.
“The farmers were on their toes working to repair the damaged bandh,” said Shiddhote Khajan Shetkari Sanghatana official Milind Mamlekar.
